Just how green is that little blue box?

For 10 years Tiffany's has embraced sustainability initiatives as part of their core values making them a sustainability leader in the jewelry industry. Tiffany's initiatives as discussed at the Arts & Cultural Initiative conference excerpted from NexusRadio 12/14/08

It’s incredible that Tiffany began its path towards green in the mid-90s, when most people would not have even known what that meant. It’s really surprising because I did not think that a company like Tiffany, which is devoted to luxury products, would have that as one of its company’s core values. I feel as though they should advertise that more, although I guess they do on their website and through their jewelry designs as much as possible. I definitely have more respect for Tiffany & Co. after hearing this.
It’s nice to hear that they are trying to be sustainable not only in their product development and manufacturing but in the day-to-day materials that they use. My boss is an artist who makes her pieces out of crystal so I totally understand the amount of bubble wrap that can be used. It’s incredible how much we use to package and send her work so I shudder to think of the amount that Tiffany uses. I definitely want to look into the recycled bubble wrap for her.
